Welcome
Welcome to the Website of the Bribie Island Retreat and Recreation Centre of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia in Queensland.
This project aims to build a multi purpose youth and community retreat centre and educational facility to encourage the spiritual, social, cultural, educational and sporting development of our youth in an Orthodox Christian framework.
Stage One, which includes the Church dedicated to Panagia and amenities block consisting of toilets, storage area and kitchen is complete.
Stage two commenced with the construction of the caretaker's residence "Kastellorizo House" generously donated by the Kastellorizian Association of Queensland. In 2012 a request by His Eminence, Archbishop Stylianos was successful in securing a federal government grant of $1.9 million to complete Stage two. Construction has commenced and will be completed by June 2013. The grant will complete this stage of the development and covers the construction of the community hall, circular driveway, and remaining 7 accommodation cabins each with their own bathroom.
The next stage will include another 5 cabins, an outdoor amphitheatre and playing field.
The government grant is for the construction only. Furniture, recreation, electronic and office equipment, kitchen appliances and consumables are to be funded by the community via donations and fundraising. We seek your support. Please donate. A donations form is available on the donations page, and well as a list of items needing to be contributed!
We look forward to welcoming you.

This project is funded by the Australian Government through the Arts, Business and Community Centres for Young Australians Initiative
